Pegasus Solutions, Inc. is a leading global provider of
reservations-related technology and services to the hospitality

Pegasus offers services in five key areas: central reservation systems,
property management systems; GDS and Internet reservations
distribution; hotel marketing, sales and representation; and travel

Distribution Services
Pegasus' Distribution Services facilitates electronic hotel
room bookings by providing a seamless interface that connects travel
Web sites and the global distribution systems (GDS) used by travel
agents, to hotel central reservation systems (CRS).
- GDS and Internet Connectivity - For a hotel to be
booked electronically through the GDSs, the hotel’s CRS must have a
computer connection to the GDSs. Travel agents around the world use
GDSs to book airlines, rental cars and hotels. Pegasus’ Distribution
Switch is linked to all major GDSs, connecting Pegasus’ hotel customers
to more than 350,000 travel agent terminals globally operating 24 hours
a day, 365 days a year. Pegasus also offers connectivity to travel Web
sites.

For connectivity, hotels must either own a proprietary CRS, use the CRS
that Pegasus or another CRS vendor provides to hotels on an ASP basis,
or use a CRS provided by representation services such as Pegasus’ Utell
by Pegasus™. On an average business day, Pegasus’ switch processes more
than 100,000 net electronic reservations (representing a majority of
the electronic hotel reservations made worldwide) for more than 200
hotel brands representing more than 44,000 properties.
- Hotel Web Sites - When a hotel company’s Web site
is "Powered by Pegasus™," it gains seamless access to the hotel's
central reservation system, providing real-time rates, availability and
booking capabilities to brand-loyal Web site visitors. Pegasus’
NetBooker™ Web-site hosting products enable hotel companies to quickly
and effectively implement Internet booking capabilities without making
pricey technology investments, such as ongoing upgrades to hardware and
Internet connectivity. Hundreds of hotel-branded Web sites are Powered
by Pegasus.
- Online Travel Agencies - Pegasus can provide its
online booking engine and distribution database to any Web site or
traditional travel agency that wants to offer real-time hotel
reservation capabilities. When Web sites are Powered by Pegasus,
companies can enable e-commerce through online reservations at more
than 44,000 hotels in approximately 20 countries. Pegasus powers
thousands of travel sites/services such as Expedia.com, Continental
Airlines’ Web site, Lastminute.com, Hotwire and Travelweb.com.
- GDS-Powered Web Sites - Even travel Web sites that
are powered by GDSs (such as Travelocity, which is powered by the Sabre
GDS) access Pegasus’ Distribution Switch to reach the majority of the
world’s hotel reservation systems.
- Groups/Meetings & Conventions - Pegasus uses
its direct connections to more than 200 hotel brands worldwide -- via
its Pegasus Distribution service -- to help in automating the large
meetings and conventions market. Pegasus connects its Distribution
Switch to group registration systems such as those provided by
Passkey.com and B-there.com. In this case, Pegasus provides a real-time
link that transmits group reservations between meeting planners, group
housing providers, convention and visitors bureaus and hotels.
- Tour Operators/Wholesale - Pegasus also plays a
role in automating the tour and wholesale market. As a result, room
reservations can be delivered electronically to the central reservation
systems of hotels with which tour operators have negotiated room
allotments.
- Corporate Travel - Pegasus supports the corporate
travel market by connecting its Distribution Switch to corporate travel
management systems such as e-Travel by Oracle. As a result,
corporations can access their negotiated hotel rates and directly book
them online.
Reservation Services
As one of the hotel industry’s largest ASPs, Pegasus provides
its CRS service to more than 7,500 hotel properties representing about
two million hotel rooms worldwide, and through CRS software licenses to
an additional 20 hotel brands representing 12,000 hotel properties.
Pegasus provides CRS management and development services, private-label
voice services, GDS and Internet connectivity and reservation
processing, electronic distribution channel management, systems
administration, database administration and facilities management.
Representation Services
Pegasus offers independent hotels and small hotel groups a
wide range of connectivity solutions, marketing services and automated
distribution technologies via its Utell
by Pegasus™ and Unirez by Pegasus™
services. With the resources and scale of the world’s leading hotel
technology provider, independent properties around the world can
quickly be connected to GDSs and leading travel Web sites to distribute
inventory.
Financial Services
Pegasus offers a comprehensive and advanced hotel commission
processing service, collecting and consolidating check-out information
and travel agency commissions on behalf of more than 35,000
properties. Representing nearly every major hotel brand, millions
of dollars in commission payments are consolidated and distributed each
month to tens of thousands of travel agencies in more than 200
countries. This service benefits both hotel and travel agency
participants by providing a single, monthly commission payment.
Property Services
Pegasus offers a Web-based property-level ASP service for both
hotel chains and independent properties worldwide through the
PegasusCentral™ hospitality management system. PegasusCentral includes
general property management system (PMS) functions and a Web-based CRS.
The system is integrated with Pegasus’ other services, such as
commission processing, and Internet and GDS distribution, to provide
hotels with a complete enterprise solution for managing their business.
